Homeowners’ Property Tax Credit

Summary

The State of Maryland has established a program that enables homeowners to receive credits applied to their property tax bill in the event that the property taxes surpass a predetermined percentage of their gross income. Essentially, this initiative establishes an upper threshold for property tax payments, taking into account the homeowner's income level.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant(s) must own and/or have a legal investment in the property.
  • The applicant(s) total household income must not surpass $60,000.
  • The property must be the applicant(s) primary residence.
  • The applicant(s) net worth cannot exceed $200,000.
  • Other requirements and/or limitations may apply.
