Stay away from this company if you don't want to waste your time and money!!! Here is my story. I sent out a 15Y refinancing request through ratesandpoints.com on Wednesday. Then I got a reply from their CEO Helio immediately with a offer of 2.75% for 15Y, with my only paying Appraisal and credit report. I accepted and called in Thursday day morning to start loan application. His/her employee promised to get me loam application package to me same day (I offered to pick up the package since I am close to their office) and then he changed to Friday and then to Monday and then Tuesday. On Tuesday morning I called and then walked in their office. After 20 minutes (at least) of waiting, I was able to talk to a ""loan officer"". It took 5-6 days just to get a loan application package. Surprisingly/Or not surprisingly in this instance, the package has a totally different loan term. The guy explained that the market went bad. My question is if they can not make a commitment, why promise at the first place? Actually I have been following the market. During the past week only today the 10Y notes went up significantly. Obviously I was not happy and walked out of their door. 5 minutes later the ""loan officer"" call me and saying basically the deal was the same as they previously promised. The difference was only $93. It looks promising. After examination of the papers, I found out he simply added the extra cost to my loan amount. How sneaky !!! Thanks God I learned Math during my school years. Bottom line, stay away from them as far as you can. I am not an ""ex-employee"" or have any other relationships with them at all.
