The Homebuyer Education Program in Maryland is designed to provide potential homebuyers with the information and tools they need to navigate the home buying process. Eligibility Requirements
- Participants must attend a Homebuyer Education Course from a HUD-approved counseling agency. The course covers topics such as home buying process, mortgage lending, and financial management.
- Participants must also complete a one-on-one counseling session with a housing counselor to discuss their personal financial situation, review their credit report, and develop an action plan to achieve their homeownership goals.
- Upon successfully completing the Homebuyer Education Course and counseling session, participants will receive a certificate of completion, which can be used to satisfy the education requirements of certain mortgage programs.
