Utility Service Protection Program (USPP)

Summary

The Utility Service Protection Program (USPP) has been developed to safeguard low-income families from utility disconnections throughout the heating season. All customers who qualify for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) are eligible to participate in the USPP. Participation in the program entails adhering to a year-round even monthly budget billing arrangement. However, it is essential to maintain a record of consecutive payments to remain enrolled in the USPP. Failure to meet this requirement may lead to removal from the program.

Eligibility Requirements

  • The applicant(s) must be considered low-income.
  • The applicant(s) must participate in a monthly budget billing.
