The Live Near Your Work program is a collaboration between Baltimore City and participating employers, aimed at promoting homeownership in close proximity to places of employment. The total amount of financial assistance varies from employer to employer, and is left up to the discretion of the company. Baltimore City will then match the employer’s contributions ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 in the form of a grant.  

Eligibility 

• The property must be located in Baltimore City
• The property must be the homebuyer’s primary residence 
• The homebuyer’s employer must participate in this program 
• The homebuyer must earn a homeownership counseling certificate prior to submitting an offer on the property
• The homebuyer must contribute at least $1,000 of their own funds at settlement
• The program must be applied for prior to settling on the property
• The mortgage amount cannot exceed the current FHA mortgage limit of $517,500
• The mortgage type must be a fixed-rate mortgage 
• Employers may have their own criteria the homebuyer must meet prior to being approved for the program
